The video version-naming template - Frooty (https://frooty.ai/templates/version-naming) 1. Start from the pattern Every version name follows {project}_{cut}_{round}_{date} - no exceptions, no extra words. 2. Letter your alternates Different creative directions get cut letters (cutA, cutB); rounds within a direction get numbers. 3. Zero-pad and date in ISO Rounds are r01, r02 (sorts correctly); dates are YYYY-MM-DD upload dates. 4. Stack, don't rename Upload each round onto the same video stack. Old names never change - history is append-only. 5. Send clients the legend Paste the one-line legend into your review message so clients read versions like you do. The pattern [ ] {project} - short client/project slug, e.g. acme-launch [ ] {cut} - cut letter for creative alternates: cutA, cutB [ ] {round} - zero-padded revision number: r01, r02, r03 [ ] {date} - upload date in ISO: 2026-10-12 [ ] Full example: acme-launch_cutA_r03_2026-10-12 The rules [ ] Lowercase only - no spaces, use hyphens inside segments [ ] Never reuse a name; a new upload always increments the round [ ] Never rename mid-round - history is append-only [ ] Cut letters change only for new creative directions, not fixes [ ] Date is the upload date, not the shoot or deadline date [ ] Nothing is ever called final, approved, or v2-new in the name - approval lives in the approval record Examples [ ] First cut, first round: acme-launch_cutA_r01_2026-10-08 [ ] Second round of notes: acme-launch_cutA_r02_2026-10-10 [ ] Alternate ending test: acme-launch_cutB_r01_2026-10-11 [ ] Social cutdown: acme-launch_social-9x16_cutA_r01_2026-10-12 Client legend (paste into review messages): How to read our versions: acme-launch_cutA_r03_2026-10-12 means project “acme-launch”, creative direction A, 3rd round, uploaded Oct 12. Always review the newest round - older ones stay below for reference. Free workspace: https://frooty.ai/auth/register
